Nails Of The Week

Hey lovelies, I snapped some picture of the nail polishes I have been wearing lately and thought I would put together another #NOTW (nails of the week) post! 

First up this week was Cajun Shrimp from OPI which is an orange-y red colour. I'm really not a fan of coral nail polishes but Cajun Shrimp leans more on the red side although it's definitely not a straight up red!

Next up was Utopia by Models Own, which I don't think really goes well with my skin tone but is a lilac/nude colour and pretty none the less!

I then borrowed Embarca-Dare Ya by OPI from my mum, an maroon/gold duochrome polish. This one was tricky to get a picture of which showed the true colour of the polish. You can see from the picture at the top that it looks slightly darker than this picture, which I would say is more true to life.

Finally, I wore Fuchsia by Barry M which was another polish which was incredibly hard to get a true picture of. Fuchsia is slightly darker than the picture shows both in the bottle and on the nail.

Sparkly NOTD!

Hey guys! Let me first apologise that I wasn't able to take this picture in natural day light, it's not even 3pm here but it's been dark and dreary all day.. Is it crazy windy where you are? It sure is here!

I don't wear sparkle or glitter on my nails too often but tonight the family and I are going out for a meal to celebrate my nephew's pre-birthday (his actual birthday is on Christmas Day, so we like to do something a couple of days before as well) and due to that and the fact that it is Christmas time, I wanted to do something more festive and sparkly with my nails. I know that red is the typical colour for Christmas but I'm saving to that to wear on Christmas day itself and instead went with Models Own Utopia with NYC's Gramercy Glitz on top. I put on two coats of each but definitely thicker coats of the NYC polish because I wanted to it be extra glitzy! 

I probably won't be posting again until after Christmas, so Merry Christmas everyone!

Current beauty wants!

1. Soap and Glory - Scrub your nose in it 

2. L'Oreal - Mythic oil - I'm currently sitting here with a pure argan oil in my hair before I wash it but so far I haven't really seen too much improvement with it and have heard lots of good things about the Mythic oil, so I want to try that one next!

3. Models Own - Utopia

4. Essie - Eternal Optimist - I missed out on this when it was being sold for £1.99 on CheapSmells so I'm now trying to get my hands on it!

5. Thierry Mugler - Angel perfume - I used the sample of Angel that was in this month's Glamour magazine and at first I didn't really like it but then I found myself constantly smelling my wrist and really liking the scent!

July Favourites

My first favourite this month is the MUA Undressed Palette - I've really been enjoying playing around with this this month and so far I'm pretty impressed. My second favourite is the Cherry Blossom scent by Bath and Bodyworks - I have both the body lotion and the body spray and the smell is amazing, I'm going to be very sad when they both run out! Next are two polishes: OPI's Bright Lights Big Colour and Models Own' Indian Ocean - I have already featured these two polishes on my blog but I love them both so much I decided to include them in my favourites too. Both colours are so pretty for summer. Another favourite has been the Sally Hansen nail polish remover - I hate taking my nail polish off and so far this is the best remover I have used. My last favourite for this month is the Aussie 3 Minute Miracle reconstructor conditioner - I have very dry hair and this make it feel so soft and smooth!

Blue nail polish!

I have never really been a big fan of blue nail polish (except for the odd dark navy blue colour here and there) but I recently saw someone wearing Butter London's 'Slapper' and absolutely loved the way the bright, vibrant turquoise blue looked on their nails. So, I decided to creep out of my comfort zone and pick some blue polish up for myself. After doing a little bit of research, I decided the best high street dupe I could get for 'Slapper' would be Barry M's 'Pure Turquoise' which I thought I had picked up but - and this will teach me in future to actually look at the names of the products I pick up before buying them - I ended up with 'Cyan blue' which, as you can see from the picture, is still a pretty bright colour.

I purchased all three of these polishes from either Superdrug or Boots.
