Shopping My Stash [Empties]

I'm sure that just like me you all have a bunch of products which kind of just sit there waiting to be used right? I'm a self confessed lip balm junkie and over the past year or so I have made little collections of these things. In particular I seemed to have more lotions and lip balms than anything else, so I set a task for myself recently to use up some of my products before allowing myself to buy anything new.

Lemony Flutter Cuticle Butter / I cheated a bit here, I've included this even though I didn't finish it. The more I used this product, the more I realised I just wasn't a fan of it (way too oily for my liking) and I really don't like how it smells. It had been sitting in my stash for so long it had turned a really pale yellow colour and so I decided to just get rid of it.

S&G No Clogs Allowed Face Mask / This is a self-heating face mask from Soap and Glory which I wasn't too crazy about either. I didn't see any improvements in my skin after using it and so I won't be repurchasing.

Dolce and Gabbana Light Blue lotion / This is the hand lotion that corresponds to their Light Blue perfume and I absolutely love the smell as well as the way this lotion sinks into your skin. I did notice towards the end of the tube though that is has plenty of parabens listed in the ingredients, so as much as I love it, I'm not in any hurry to get another one (I'm slowly trying to cut down on the amount of products I use that contain parabens).

Caudalie lip balms / Whenever I visit France, I always pick up one of these lip balms because I just love them. They're under 4 euros each but feel like the most luxurious balm I have ever used. Although I'm trying to cut down my collection, I already have two more of these sitting in their place ;)

Scrub Series: Soap and Glory's Breakfast Scrub

Hey you lovely lot! Today's Scrub is yet another Soap and Glory one (I just love them) in the form of Breakfast Scrub. If you've used this before or even if you've just taken a sniff of it in store then you know it's maple scent smells amazing. Really amazing. Like you want to eat it amazing.
It's a nice gritty scrub that doesn't dissolve and disappear in the water quickly because it's so super thick. It leaves your skin nicely buffed and feeling smooth. I know it's way too think to come in a tube but I still wish it did - I'm just not a fan of scrubs that come in a tub like this.
At £8 it's at the same price point as most of Soap and Glory's Scrubs which to me always feels like a bit of a splurge but for the most part, they are nearly always worth it (this one included) and I will repurchase them over and over again!

Scrub Series: Soap and Glory - Pulp Friction

I seem to be slowly working my way through all the Soap and Glory scrubs, deciding which ones I like and which ones I'm not too keen on. Today's is Pulp Friction, which is described as a 'foamy fruity body scrub'.

As far as the scrub goes, I really like it. It's sand like texture is really gritty but not too abrasive or harsh, it feels good on your skin and it lathers up really nicely, almost enough to act as a scrub and wash 2-in-1 product. I actually rate this as one of my favourite scrubs I have come across so far. What gets me is the smell, I think I may be getting used to it now but at first I really didn't like it. This may seem harsh but it reminds me of the way that the soap you get in public bathrooms smell. My tube has the new 'Fruitigo Fragrance' to it, so I would have been interested to see what this smelt like before, I assume, they changed it over. Peppermint oil is listed as one of the ingredients (which I would never have guessed had I not read it on the front) and I so wish that it one of a the more dominant scents because then I would absolutely love this scrub!

One thing that I can never get my head around with S&G are all the funky terms they use for their ingredients that they list on their products - 'lemonade tree liquid' WHAT?

Anyway.. Have you tried Pulp Friction? Do you like it as much as I do? What about the smell? I'd love to know what you think about it!

Scrub Series: Soap and Glory Sugar Crush Bodyscrub

Phew! Exams are over for me now, which means I'm not spending every spare second I have studying and so I thought I would take this chance to finally start a new series on my blog - the scrub series! I have been really enjoying using body (and face) scrubs recently and I thought why not share my thoughts of them all over here on my blog? As you might have guessed from the picture above, I'm starting it off with Soap and Glory's Sugar Crush scrub!

Sugar Crush has a similar scent to the Sugar Crush body wash just much stronger (in my opinion) which is a pleasant smell of limes and not at all like the typical Soap and Glory scent. It always puts me in mind of the chocolate lime sweets you can get! It's fairly scrub-worthy but it's incredibly thick which I wasn't too keen on. You have to get this wet otherwise it's just far too thick to spread out over your skin and it doesn't lather very well which is something I like from scrub. I also wish it came in a tube (although, I understand why it dosen't being as thick as it is) because I find the tubs really big and getting water in the tub when I go to scoop some out has become a pet peeve of mine!

Soap & Glory No Clogs Allowed Face Mask

Hey guys!

I tend to stay away from face masks because I have super sensitive skin which means I like to stick to the few tried and tested products that I have which I know don't irritate it but I heard about this self heating, deep pore detox mask from Soap and Glory and thought I would see how it goes..

I read a lot of reviews on this product before I bought it, firstly to see if anyone else mentioned that it seemed to break them out and then generally, if people thought it was any good!

Directions state to rub a 'grape sized' amount of the mask onto your face, wet your hands with water and then rub the mask into your skin until it turns blue and heats up. Then leave it on for 5 minutes and wipe off with a warm cloth.

The mask blends out really nicely on your skin and has teeny-tiny exfoliating beads in it. Once you wet your hands and rub it in it definitely heats up, to me it goes beyond a warm sensation to feeling actually quite hot but this literally lasts a few seconds until it turns blue and then quickly cools down. During the 5 minutes I leave it on, it then starts to feel really cool on my skin, the way products with peppermint in them make your skin feel. I then wash the mask off as opposed to using a wash cloth like the directions suggest because I find it easier and like I said, since my skin is sensitive I like to make sure it's all removed from my face. I was disappointed to find that it no longer comes with a little sponge to use to wipe it off like it used to do before it was repackaged.

As for unblocking my pores, I'm really not sure. At first, after the first few times I used it, I felt like I was seeing a difference but now having used this many times, if there is any difference in my skin its a very little one! It does leave your skin feeling soft and clean though which is nice and it's a nice addition to use on a pamper evening.

This mask sells for £11.50 but at the time of this post it is currently £7.67 on the Boots website.

Friday Favourites

Hey guys, welcome to my first Friday Favourites! I'm not very good at doing a monthly favourite posts, I usually just don't have enough products to talk about. As a result of that, I've decided to start doing Friday Favourites, although not every week.. just when I have a few products that I'm loving and want to tell you about!

Macadamia Deep Repair Masque - I've already reviewed this product (which you can read by clicking here) so I wont talk about it too much but I'm still really liking the masque which I usually leave on for around 10-15 minutes for silky soft hair. I have found a highstreet mask which I'm also loving also, so stay tuned for a blog post and review on that soon!

Not Your Mother's Way To Grow Shampoo - I've been really picky with shampoo lately and keep finding they leave my hair feeling knotty and hard to manage but this one not only smells amazing but didn't leave me with knotty hair and made it feel clean and soft instead. I'm almost out of this and going to be sad when it's gone because the product isn't readily available in the UK

Essie's Ladylike nail polish - Ladylike is my go to polish when I want something on my nails but not sure what or when I just can't decide on a colour to wear. It's a subtle nude with a pale purple hint to it. I think Ladylike is a perfect name for this polish as it brings in a chic almost classy look to your nails, which I love.

Maybelline Babylips in Quenched - I love the Babylips balms but in particular I like the clear ones as you can apply them without a mirror and not worry about them getting all over your face. I think these might be the softest balms I've ever used but that means I do find myself getting through them pretty quick.

Soap and Glory Sexy MotherPucker lipgloss in Punchbowl - I was given this as as unwanted gift from my sister and at £9 I don't think it's something I would have purchased myself but I really like this gloss. It has a plumping formula so has that tingly sensation after you apply it but I love the colour and find that this actually stays put on my lips for longer than I expected. I like this so much I think I may just pick up another colour!

Current beauty wants!

1. Soap and Glory - Scrub your nose in it

2. L'Oreal - Mythic oil - I'm currently sitting here with a pure argan oil in my hair before I wash it but so far I haven't really seen too much improvement with it and have heard lots of good things about the Mythic oil, so I want to try that one next!

3. Models Own - Utopia

4. Essie - Eternal Optimist - I missed out on this when it was being sold for £1.99 on CheapSmells so I'm now trying to get my hands on it!

5. Thierry Mugler - Angel perfume - I used the sample of Angel that was in this month's Glamour magazine and at first I didn't really like it but then I found myself constantly smelling my wrist and really liking the scent!

What's in my travel make up bag?

I recently spent a lovely week in Devon and thought I would write a post about the make up I took with me. On a day to day basis I wear very simple make up, so this isn't going to be the most exciting 'What's in my travel make up bag' you will ever read but I still decided to share it with you.

Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua foundation

Soap and Glory's Thick & Fast mascara, I love this but mine is finally needing to be replaced.

Oh, on a side note, I took these pictures on the window sill in the living room of the cottage we rented for the week. I really wish I had a window sill like this! The lighting and space were good for taking pictures which is something I don't have in my own house.
