Organix Moroccan Argan Oil shampoo

I was excited to try this shampoo after liking the conditioner and at first I liked it but after using it a few more times, I was pretty disappointed. I noticed my hair felt weird and almost powdery which lead me to think maybe I hadn't rinsed the shampoo out properly and made note to myself to make sure I rinsed well the next time I used this to wash my hair but found the same thing happened again. After the third wash with no change, I decided not to use this shampoo anymore. It felt like the product had built up and was in still in my hair making it hard to run my fingers through it or style and generally just did not feel very nice definitely not smooth or silky like the bottle claims! I couldn't wait to wash my hair again with a shampoo I know works well to get it all out. I was pretty disappointed and so glad I didn't buy the big huge version of this! One positive about this product though is the amount you get even though it's a mini size - perfect for a two week holiday or travelling if you like the Organix range.

Have you used this shampoo? Did you like it?

  1. I haven't tried this but I don't think I will be now! I actually find I prefer cheaper shampoos, I feel more expensive ones make my hair greasier. I use the alberto balsam ones and they're really good value for money. Then I normally use a more expensive conditioner. I'm interested in trying the conditioner if that's a lot nicer than this!

  2. I agree with Hayley, I also prefer using cheap shampoos and then maybe more expensive conditioners, whatever works best for my hair!
Such a shame this didn't meet what it claimed!

  5. I always question this because oil is always a no go with my hair - if it hasn't worked for you then I'm pretty sure mine will be the same. Gaaaah :(

    1. I have pretty thick hair so I don't know whether it would work out different if you have a different hair type but yeah, it was bad enough that I wouldn't say risk it unless you try out the mini bottle Jess, otherwise you could be wasting £6-7 :(

  6. I agree, I love the conditioner, but the shampoo was disappointing to me, too. I started using a new natural shampoo first, then the organix conditioner, and I love the way it makes my hair feel!

    1. Funny that you think exactly the same! It's put me off trying any of their other products..

  7. I really like this shampoo! I find that double-washing works best because of it being SLS-free, and it's best to not use a lot each rinse x

  13. Ohh I have been debating whether to buy this shampoo for a while so I am glad I have come across this post :) Great idea not to invest in the bigger bottle I usually end up wasting lots! If you are looking for a cheaper fix I use Superdrug coconut oil! It costs less than £2 and does wonders :)

    1. It seems quite a few people actually really like this shampoo so maybe you would too?

  14. I tend to stay away from Shampoos that are moisturizing because they always make my thin hair feel heavy and make it dry really slow for some reason. I'd love to try the conditioner but knowing the shampoo can cause buildup will make me approach with caution. I had been looking at both the shampoo and conditioner for awhile now so thanks for the review!

    1. I really didn't expect it to leave my hair feeling so yucky because I had been hearing so many good things about this shampoo when I was thinking about trying it.. I still have the conditioner sitting in a box unused because this put me off trying it!
