Lush - Mask of Magnaminty

Okay, to be honest I'm not the biggest fan of Lush but while I was having a nosey round in there recently I spotted this and decided to give it a try. Mask of Magnaminty is a mask for either your face or back which claims to fight against spots and blemishes. I've been using it in the bath now for a few weeks (leaving it on for around 10 minutes) and while I haven't seen much of a difference it feels really nice.

The mask has a herbal and peppermint smell which at first I wasn't too keen on but I've grown to really like the and the peppermint oil has a cooling effect on your skin. Depending on how much and how long you leave it on for, the cooling sensation lasts even after you've rinsed it off. It's very easy to wash off and your skin is left feeling clean and fresh but it definitely takes a few rinses to get it out of your bath!

You can click here to read more about this product on the Lush website and for this 315g pot it costs £8.95. I was a bit disappointed that it expires so quickly though (just over a month after I purchased it) - Do you use your Lush products after they have 'expired'?

NOTD: Essie 'Flawless'

Essie's Flawless is a pretty blue toned pastel pink colour. I was expecting it to be streaky and difficult to apply but it surprised me and in two coats I was able to get the opaque colour that I wanted. I wore a topcoat over it and it lasted pretty well.

You can buy Essie at Superdrug and also here at Boots.com

NOTD: Essie 'Mint candy apple'

Essie's 'Mint candy apple' is a pastel green colour which is perfect for summer and would look perfect with tanned skin. This polish isn't streaky which I thought it could be since it's a pastel colour and I was impressed with the longevity of it. In the picture I'm wearing two coats with Barry M's clear polish over the top.
If you would like to buy Essie online, you can do so here at Boots.com.

NOTD: Essie 'Cute as a button'

'Cute as a button' is a solid red/pink colour which dries with a super glossy finish . It goes on pretty opaque but after applying two coats you could just faintly see the white tips of my nails which I don't like but I think you would have to look pretty close to notice it and could always add another coat. I didn't wear a top coat over this and noticed it started chipping pretty quickly which was disappointing.

Blue nail polish!

NYC - Water Street Blue £1.79
Barry M - Cyan Blue £2.99
Models Own - Indian Ocean £5.00

I have never really been a big fan of blue nail polish (except for the odd dark navy blue colour here and there) but I recently saw someone wearing Butter London's 'Slapper' and absolutely loved the way the bright, vibrant turquoise blue looked on their nails. So, I decided to creep out of my comfort zone and pick some blue polish up for myself. After doing a little bit of research, I decided the best high street dupe I could get for 'Slapper' would be Barry M's 'Pure Turquoise' which I thought I had picked up but - and this will teach me in future to actually look at the names of the products I pick up before buying them - I ended up with 'Cyan blue' which, as you can see from the picture, is still a pretty bright colour.

I purchased all three of these polishes from either Superdrug or Boots.

Review: Soap & Glory's Smoulder Kohl eye liner pencil

When were on our way home recently having been out all day my sister looked at me and commented that my make up was still there and that even my eye liner was still on and that she knew I hadn't reapplied it during the day. This has got to be the best pencil eye liner I have ever tried. It's super black, it's creamy so it applies easily and smoothly and it has amazing lasting power (it also comes with a sharpener attached to the lid).

The only downside to this eye liner is that I find it smudges a little bit and that sometimes at some point throughout the day I feel like I need to check and maybe wipe under my eyes. I have also noticed that next day after wearing it - even after using eye make up remover and washing my face - I still seem to get black around my eyes but that's a very small price to pay for such a lovely eye liner.

I lost the lid to mine and have noticed that it seems to have dried out a little bit but once you start using it again (or even if you were to slide it across your hand before using it on your eyes) it goes back to working perfectly.

If you're interested in trying this eye liner out for yourself you can buy it here for £5.00.

Have you tried this eye liner? Do you love it as much as I do?

NOTD: OPI 'Bright lights, Big color'

For the last couple of days I have been wearing OPI's 'Bright lights, Big color' on my nails, which is a very pretty orange/pink colour that has a golden shimmer in it. I absolutely love this colour and don't have anything else quite like it. The only problem with this polish is the longevity is terrible and I feel like it starts to chip almost instantly (even with a topcoat). I think this may be one of the worse polishes I own chipping wise which is disappointing. The colour definitely makes up for it though and I think this will be one of my most worn polishes this summer!

Do you own this colour? Do you have problems with it too?

Review: Neutrogena Wave Power Cleanser

I've used the Neautrogena wave (after hearing some really good reviews on it) a few times now but I'm unsure whether I love it or not. I thought the easiest way to review this product would be to give you my own advantages and disadvantages so here goes:

+ The size: it's small and easy to hold
+ It comes with a battery which is a nice little added extra and means you can start using straight away
- The pads you use on it already have a cleanser in them and I wish they didn't. There's not enough in them so I add my own anyway but I'd like to just use my own. I also don't like not knowing what is in the cleanser that is already added
- It doesn't lather enough for me, even when I add my own cleanser. I always want to stop and just use my hands
- Refills are around £5.50 for 30 which for me, since I'm not completely in love with this product seems like a lot
+ I do feel like it cleans my face really well but not much different to when I use my hands and it also takes longer
+ It's completely water proof which makes it very easy to clean
+ It comes with 14 pads which is a nice amount to get with it
- The shape and size makes it hard to clean around your nose

I do like this product but I feel like there are also lots of things I don't like about it too.
If you would like to test it our for yourself it's available at both Superdrug and Boots for around ten pounds.
